イギリスにはスティーリー・ダンに影響を受けたアーティストは多いが、チャイナ・クライシスもそんな一つ。
82年にデビューし、84年にシングル「ウィッシフル・シンキング」が大ヒット、この曲を収録したアルバム「未完成」はスティーリー・ダンのウォルター・ベッカーによるプロデュースでこれもヒットした。

以後はアコースティック色を強めるが、ヒットからは遠ざかっていった。
